From there, I demonstrate how to harmonize each note of the C major scale with unique, carefully chosen voicings to improve voice leading, tension, and melodic flow, before applying the same concept to the C melodic minor scale for a more outside, tension-filled sound. You’ll also learn how to apply these chord scales to real musical contexts like a ii–V–I (G7 altered to Cmaj7), including tips on transposing melodic minor harmony and using these ideas in modal settings such as Lydian and Mixolydian.
