What happens to our faith when our employment becomes uncertain? As South African employees face Section 189 retrenchment consultations, Scripture offers a powerful reminder: God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power, love and sound judgment. In this devotional, we explore Paul's encouragement to Timothy, the Hebrew name YHWH TSEVA'OT in Psalm 46, and how believers can face uncertainty without surrendering to fear. Learn why trusting God does not mean ignoring your responsibilities, remaining silent about unfairness or abandoning practical planning. Our circumstances can change. God's faithfulness remains. Scriptures: 2 Timothy 1:5–8; Psalm 46; Philippians 4:6–7; Matthew 6:25–34; Galatians 6:2.
