Vocal: Pandit Channulal Mishra Pandit Chhannulal Mishra (3 August 1936 – 2 October 2025) was a legendary Indian Hindustani classical vocalist who served as the spiritual anchor and cultural ambassador of the Banaras musical tradition. Born in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, he received his foundational musical training from his father, Badri Prasad Mishra, before refining his artistry under Ustad Abdul Ghani Khan of the Kirana gharana and the musicologist Thakur Jaidev Singh. Celebrated for his exceptional versatility, he seamlessly bridged the rigorous classical complexity of Khayal with the deep emotional resonance of semi-classical and seasonal folk forms, including Thumri (specifically the Purab Ang style), Dadra, Chaiti, Kajri, and soul-stirring Bhajans.
