50th Church Anniversary | Mount Horeb Apostolic church [HIGHLIGHTS]

Church History: The West Bromwich Branch of the Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ, originated in the garage of one of its earliest members, in the 1970s. As the church grew we were forced to move from one place of worship to another, under the leadership of the late Terrence and Alvera Landell. The church was given its name by the Late Elder Roy Bell. Elder Bell made his annual visit to fellowship with our church on the late Elder and Evangelist Landell’s Thanksgiving Sunday. He took his text from Exodus Chapter 3, which relates the incident of Moses and the burning bush. The scripture declared that “Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.” (Ex 3:1) The main emphasis of the topic was, “the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” (Ex 3:5) The Late Elder Bell believed that this church was a blessed place, and so it should be called 'Mount Horeb.' The same text and topic were then used in the evening service by Bishop Edmund. Since then, many overseas preachers have visited Mount Horeb Church and professed that it is, indeed, a blessed place. We reflect on 50 years, today under the leadership of Bishop Andrew Landell and celebrate where God has brought us.
