Can a Raspberry Pi 3 and a $5 VGA666 still deliver an amazing CRT gaming experience in 2026? In this video, we bring back one of my old projects: **AmiRetroPie**. This time, the philosophy is simple: *Quality over quantity.* Instead of filling the SD card with thousands of ROMs that we will probably never play, AmiRetroPie 2026 focuses on carefully selected systems and games, tested and configured specifically for Raspberry Pi 3 + VGA666 + 15kHz CRT. We will take a closer look at the VGA666, how it works, why it can still produce excellent 240p RGB output in 2026, and how it compares with more modern solutions such as RGB Dual.
