The incredible work, patience, and skill that go into every piece are a remarkable example of India’s rich textile heritage—a tradition that is slowly disappearing with the rise of industrial production. ⛪ Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus I also visited the magnificent Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, one of Pondicherry’s most remarkable churches. Built in 1875 during the French colonial era, the basilica stands as a beautiful example of Gothic architecture and Pondicherry’s unique cultural heritage.
