Miami County, Ohio. Caleb Flynn is on trial for the murder of his wife, Ashley. The state’s key witness is the woman he was texting: Alleigha Botner, a worship leader from his own church. Over two days she walks the jury through 107,000 messages — “I want to kill her, Caleb,” the deletion coaching, the burner phone, “Actions will come tomorrow” — and then the defense gets its turn: the phone that fell in the ocean, the laptop lost on a plane, the two FBI interviews.
This is the follow-up to our Caleb Flynn police-interview video: her direct testimony, the cross-examination, the forensic examiner’s timeline from his watch and AirPods, and the verdict. Flynn was convicted on all nine counts and sentenced on 5 October 2026 to life without parole. Botner has not been charged; legal experts told NBC News she is unlikely to be.
