4 STAR⭐EDGE | TEXAS LONGHORNS Commit KOSI OKPALA | Mayde Creek HS | SR Season Highlights

Mayde Creek High School star defender Kosi Okpala dominates his senior season off the edge, showing why he’s one of Texas’ most feared front-seven playmakers in the Class of 2026. The four-star Texas Longhorns commit brings a violent first step, long frame, and sideline-to-sideline range that makes him a true game-wrecker in District 19-6A. Recruiting services rank Okpala as a national top-300 prospect and one of the top EDGE / outside linebacker talents in Texas, with the 247Sports Composite listing him as a four-star and one of the top 20 edge rushers in the country. He chose Texas over offers from Baylor, Houston, Miami (FL), Penn State, and more than 30 other programs, solidifying the Longhorns’ 2026 defensive class with a high-upside pass rusher. On the field, Okpala’s production matches the hype: across his last two seasons at Mayde Creek, he racked up over 120 total tackles with 30+ tackles for loss and double-digit sacks, including 55 tackles, 17 TFLs, and 5 sacks as a junior alone. His burst off the ball, ability to bend around the edge, and motor in pursuit show why analysts project him as a future impact defender in Austin and a potential NFL Draft prospect with continued development. Watch the full senior highlight reel to see Okpala blow up run plays, chase down quarterbacks, and set the edge against some of the best competition in Texas high school football. Longhorns fans and college football recruiting junkies get an early look at a defender who fits perfectly into Texas’ aggressive, attacking defense. He will sign his national letter of intent today on the Early National Signing Day 2026 . 🚨 Student-athletes — want to be featured?
