In the quiet countryside of Tiền Giang, there is a family recipe that has outlasted the eatery where it was born.
For Má Tư, hủ tiếu mì is more than a trade her family ran from 1954 to 1980. It’s the memory of coming home from school to help her parents by the hearth, surrounded by her brothers and sisters. Decades later, it is how she brings four generations back to the same table.
When Má Tư cooks, she isn't just preparing a meal. She is passing down a living history and “nếp nhà”- allowing a younger generation, who never met their grandparents, to feel their presence through every warm bowl and every story retold.
"Every once in a while, I gather everyone over. The whole family cooks up a meal, and we just have the best time.”
