Joyce is a fashion designer based in London, UK currently doing a masters in Womenswear Fashion at the Royal College of Art. She is also the Creative Director of Avd London and founder of Alpha Female Academy, a clothing brand and an online sewing school for sewing enthusiasts. With both parents originally from Ghana, Joyce has taken it upon herself to explore the depths of Ghana by researching its rich culture, fashion and traditional handicrafts, and has been doing this for over 20 years. - I had the honour of shooting Joyce, who was wearing a traditional Ghanaian top called the ‘Batakari’, and her own creations under her label @avdlondon (on Instagram), at Independence Square in celebration of her time in Ghana.
