SST Makerspace Innovation Conference 3.0

Welcome to the livestream of SST Makerspace 3.0, themed “Beyond the Prototype: Advancing Africa’s Hardware Ecosystem.” Africa has no shortage of ideas, technical talent or ambitious builders. The harder question is what happens after the prototype works. How do we move from a promising demonstration to a product that can be funded, manufactured, deployed, maintained, trusted and scaled? This conference brings together students, engineers, founders, investors, academics, industry leaders and other stakeholders across the technology ecosystem to examine what it will take to build stronger hardware systems in Africa. Through keynote addresses, fireside conversations and industry perspectives, we will explore the realities of building physical technology on the continent, including access to capital, manufacturing, talent development, reliability, standards and market adoption. The livestream will also feature a product exhibition showcasing what young African builders are developing across the SST Makerspace ecosystem.
