Numbulwar Songmen. Wubuy mari Wungubal project. Giningayi Mandamurriyn Charlie Ngalmi, Richard Ngalmi and Mayiwa Binju Ngalmi - Vocal and Yadu Numamurdirdi - Lhambilgbilg (Didj). Long ago the Ngalmi and Manggurra clans sung about the two old witches. They carried the Lhabara (paper bark coolamon) and threw it on the ground, making noises. They use to do that in the olden days. Then they performed a mixed Ceremony and Wungubal together, that two old witch and they danced about the two old witch. This is a Manggurra clan song, but, we, the Ngalmi clan, sing this song in the Anarrg songline (smoking ceremony). When they perform the Two Old Witch in Ceremony, at the same time the morning star rises. This is a Manggurra clan song, but they share it with the Wagilak clan (from north east Arnhem). Manggurra people dance the Warrmin (Saratoga) song and the Lhuru (Sleepy Cod), from the billabong. They dance the Manggurra song. Singing the song of the Warrmin, Lhuru and the Mulunguwa (Spirit People/Bush Blackbella). They sang about the Mulunguwa (Spirit People) they used to dance in the Manggurra song. The Morning Star is a Manggurra clan song from the dream time. It's been there for long time and still remains with the Manggurra clan. Video produced by Numbulwar Culture & Media.
