Nightmare — Part 2: The One Behind Me [Intro] Last time… The clock struck 3:05. Nightmare stood outside my window. But something touched my shoulder… And when I turned around… He was already gone. [Verse 1] I spin around, but the room is empty, My heart beats fast, and my hands are shaking. The window’s still open, curtains blowing, But outside, those red eyes keep glowing. I take one step toward the glass, Then hear a whisper from somewhere behind me, “Don’t look outside…” I freeze in place, Because that voice… Sounds exactly like mine. [Pre-Chorus] The clock starts ticking backwards, 3:05… 3:04… 3:03… Every second that disappears, Those red eyes get closer to me. [Chorus] Nightmare, Nightmare, what do you want from me? Why do you only come when nobody can see? I run from the darkness, but it follows where I go, Every time I think I’m safe, those red eyes start to glow. There’s nowhere left to hide, Nowhere left to run, Because Nightmare doesn’t chase you… He makes you chase yourself. [Verse 2] I grab the door and pull it open, But there’s no hallway anymore. I’m standing in my childhood bedroom, Staring at the same old door. Pictures on the wall begin to move, Every face turns toward me. Then I see myself in one of them… But I’m standing there… At 3:00 AM. The picture suddenly cracks, And something crawls through the frame. A tall black figure with glowing red eyes… Whispering my name. [Pre-Chorus] I stumble backward, And he takes one step forward. I look down at his shadow… It doesn’t belong to him. It belongs to me. [Chorus] Nightmare, Nightmare, you’re inside my head, Everywhere I run, you’re already there instead. I shut my eyes, but I still see your face, I leave the room, but you’re already in the next place. Three in the morning, that’s when you appear, Two glowing red eyes getting closer every year. I thought you wanted me… But now I understand. You don’t want me dead. You want me to become you. [Bridge] The clock suddenly stops. 3:00 AM. Nightmare reaches toward me… And touches my face. Everything goes black. Then I hear a little girl’s voice: “Wake up.” I open my eyes. I’m lying in my bed. Morning sunlight fills the room. No Nightmare. No red eyes. No broken window. I laugh nervously. “Just a nightmare…” Then I look at the clock. 2:59 AM. I stare at it in confusion. Because outside my bedroom… I hear footsteps. Slow. Heavy. Getting closer. [Breakdown] 3:00 AM. The bedroom door slowly opens. But this time… I don’t see Nightmare. I see myself standing in the doorway. Same clothes. Same face. Same red glowing eyes. He smiles at me and whispers: “You finally woke up.” [Outro] The lights go out. My phone turns on by itself. One new message appears: UNKNOWN: “Part 3 begins when you fall asleep.” I look toward the bed… And realize… I’m not the one lying in it anymore. TO BE CONTINUED…
