The life tangent of an ordinary 1940s Japanese girl, who works on a street cart, before and in the wake of the nuclear bomb drop on Hiroshima. ----- Medium's nature: DVD-Rip Ripper: Alarica Eichkern Status: Least concern. Being a DVD-rip, the image and audio quality are both very good. No known English subs so far. ----- I chose to upload this as the channel's first War Drama, because it's also in danger of being lost. Alarica Eichkern, the only attested ripper, updated it about 13 years ago. Overall, it is a genre scarcely covered, notwithstanding "Hotaru no Haka", "Ushiro no Shoumen Dare" or "Hadashi no Gen" and could benefit from subtitling effort. I know little about Hiroshima ni Ichiban Densha ga Hashitta itself. It was crisply animation produced by Madhouse. Toshio Hirata happened to be one of the animation directors... Yes, remember, the director of the second episode of "Santa no Yama Yousei no Mori". Madhouse was the very last studio he joined, at the paramount of his career. Before working on Cowboy Bebop's screenplay, Keiko Nobumoto took care of the script of this TV special. Akio Sugino is the chara-designer, known for many noteworthy contributions in this position, from "Jungle Emperor Leo" to "Space Adventures Cobra".
