Coffee with Colleen & Dave Walter, CEO of the Composite Recycling Technology Center (CRTC)

From recycled carbon fiber and advanced forest products to affordable housing and next-generation manufacturing, the CRTC is demonstrating how local materials, local talent, and innovative technology can create products—and economic opportunities—with impact far beyond our region. • Did you know that one of the world’s most popular high-end portable pickleball nets is manufactured right here in Port Angeles? • Did you know that an innovative carbon-fiber orthotic spring manufactured in Port Angeles has helped more than 30,000 patients be able to walk again? • Did you know that wood harvested by the Makah Tribe is being transformed on the Olympic Peninsula into durable, affordable housing designed for rural and Tribal communities? • Did you know that technologies developed here in Port Angeles are turning materials once considered waste into high-value products for healthcare, recreation, construction, housing, and other industries?
