-- Disclaimer at the end of the video -- There's always room for belic or war games usually under the strategy genre. Games like Commandos, Warcraft and Starcraft are a few oldies in the genre. One that is a little bit different due to its simplicity, is Return Fire, by Silent Software, published in 1995. Return Fire features different vehicle classes the player can use, and the objective is to capture the enemy flag and return to base. The demo presented here has 2 modes: easy and hard, and both single player or 2 player gameplay. Easy can be considered as a tutorial of some sort, because it doesn't have any challenge, I mean, there's just 1 building in the entire map which obviously has the flag. The hard mode in single player though, is much more massive and populated, with actual enemy turrets that fire at you on approach, as well as different flag buildings, of which only one has the actual flag. In the 2 player mode, the screen is split, and both players use the keyboard to operate their vehicles. Each vehicle has its own traits, and you get 3 of each. You have the helicopter, to scout and do fast attacks from air, a missile launcher that traverses through land, a good ol' tank, and a jeep, the weakest of the 4. The catch here is that once you find the enemy flag, you have to use the jeep to take it and go back to base, no other vehicle can carry the flag, which might be easier said than done. The two difficulty settings are shown here, but I cut the hard one short, because I couldn't find the flag, and it was getting too long.
