Music By Elgin Wells

I thought I'd share a couple of rare pieces by the Gwinnett composer Elgin Wells. He was a talented multi-instrument musician who played guitar, keyboards, violin, trumpet, sax, and a talented vocalist. He was also a skilled aerobatic pilot, with a customized plane he called the 'Starjammer'. I saw him perform at various airshows in Georgia, as well as perform music at the Atlanta Jazz Festivals. Tragically, on April 25, 2018, he had an accident with his plane in China while practicing for an upcoming airshow to be held there. I would like to share these two rare songs solely composed by the late-great Wells. The first piece is "Suite After," which features beautiful violin and piano work. The second one is "Sweet Silence" which features the melodic combinations of all the different instruments he was skilled at playing. I linked a couple other songs he did for 94Q's Jazz Flavours in the '80s at the end of the video. RIP Elgin Wells
