Engineers Last Run Ever! Police Car Stuck By Train, Tanker Train Vs Hill, Last Wave & Working Hard!

Retiring Engineer On Last Train Run, Police Car Stopped By Train At Railroad Crossing On A Run, Long Tanker Train Of Storage Cars Working Hard On Steep Grade & Engineer Waves To Railfans On His Last Couple Miles Of Track. Short Line Railroad Action On Cincinnati Eastern Railroad. This is a longer train than normal due to a nice consist of tanker cars and some grain loads. The train also has hopper cars loaded with stone. One of the new locomotives is working with the MP15DC switcher locomotive to pull a train for three different customers. The covered hopper cars are loaded with corn and the tanker cars are being moved from storage. The engineer is on his last run of his career. He worked 26 years for the railroad and is retiring on the day that I posted this. Karl also worked for Norfolk Southern before coming to Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET. I chased the train from Sicily Road which is just west of Sardinia all the way to Williamsburg, Ohio. After the train passed me it went just a couple more miles to Afton Yard near Batavia to shut down for the day. I didn't know that this was Karls' last train until I got to Mount Orab, Ohio. It was pure luck and a blessing to get his last train. He is in a lot of my videos although usually I don't know who is operating the train. This was a great train to finish a career on. It's been a while since this many tank cars were moved on the line. We also have some loads of grain to go with the rock. Right when I was arriving at Sicily Road I heard my scanner activate for a motor vehicle accident. A truck running westbound on Rt32 went off the road and struck a tree. I had just crossed over Rt32 a minute or two before the tones dropped. You can hear the dispatcher talking to the fire department on my radio while I am waiting for the train. At the end of the video there is a copy of a news article that discusses the accident. Right when the train got to the US68 railroad crossing in Mount Orab a state patrol car on a run had to wait for the train. I don't know if this was related to the motor vehicle accident since the state trooper was going the wrong way. You can see the conductor motion for the trooper to cross the tracks after the train passes. Listen to the EMD locomotives working hard on the hill in Williamsburg, Ohio! They sound awesome roaring past and the sound of the wheels clanking at a connection is really cool. The engineer really gave us some good waves here! Another railfan was here also and the conductor was doing a roll by inspection of the train. The train shut down for the day just a couple miles past us. Congratulations to Karl for 26 years of railroading! Us railfans appreciate all the waves he gave us over the years. This was a great train for the final train since it was longer than normal and had several different types of freight cars. The tank cars had been in storage at Mount Zion. Best frequencies are 160.860 for CCET, 151.280 for Brown County EMS and 155.175 for Clermont County EMS.
