Kiwanis Club of Detroit, No 1 with Taneka Hicks

Check out our podcast interview with Kiwanis Club of Detroit No.1 with President-Elect Taneka Hicks as she shares the club’s rich history, which began right here in Detroit in 1915. Now celebrating 111 years of service, Kiwanis continues its global mission of improving literacy through its signature Books for Kids program, launched in 2001. Each year, the club donates 1,000 to 2,000 books to schools and libraries, reaching children from newborns through high school, with books available in English, French, and Spanish. Discover how Kiwanis is helping put books into children’s hands and strengthen literacy in our communities.
