The flip crew heads to St. Petersburg where our homeowner, Beth Reynolds, has been battling weeds and sandspurs in her front yard. Our team of landscape professionals work in unison to flip her corner lot into a Florida-Friendly Landscape that will serve as an example for her friends and neighbors to follow. (Season 2 Episode 3) This episode of Flip My Florida Yard takes place in St. Petersburg, where the team transforms homeowner Beth Reynolds’ struggling yard into a vibrant, Florida-friendly landscape in just eight hours. With help from her best friend and neighbor Heather, Beth’s sandspur-ridden, invasive-laden yard is redesigned to reduce stormwater runoff and support local ecosystems. Highlights include a water-efficient irrigation system, a creatively designed rain barrel setup, and a beautiful clay paver pathway that complements the historic charm of her home. Landscape designer Arnie Rutkus incorporates pollinator patches, native grasses, and a lush rain garden, while hardscape expert Glenn Swisher constructs freestyle winding paths with long-lasting, colorfast clay pavers. Environmental education also takes center stage, with insights from Camille Beasley of Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection on wetland preservation. The episode culminates in an emotional reveal of a transformed yard that reflects Beth’s love for nature and her commitment to protecting Florida’s waterways.
