She gave him deadlines to leave his wife, Ashley, so they could continue building a future together. Botner stated in December 2025 that she figured Caleb was not going to leave his wife and that he was just leading her on. Caleb’s wife, Ashley, was killed in February 2026 after what he said was a break-in.
