I thought I knew my golf swing. I was wrong.
This is my first GolfTec swing analysis - what it showed, what stung, and what I’m rebuilding as I restart Degenerate Golf Club.
Ten years ago I started this channel with one goal: get to single digits. I did… and then life happened. Move to Arizona, no routine, less golf, and a slow drift away from the thing that actually keeps me balanced. GolfTec gave me structure again: a coach, a plan, and a place to practice.
In this episode I’m going back through the analysis and the three big “findings” that explained a lot:
• No wrist hinge early in the backswing (P3)
• Overswing / arm structure at the top
• Lower body sway / locked trail leg that turned the backswing into compensations
This restart isn’t about chasing scratch. It’s about doing the work long enough for it to stick in real life: garage sessions, range reps, and a Dad Golf Lab experiment to see if good advice survives contact with a busy schedule.
Next episode: I start with the first fix—learning how to hinge the club properly in the backswing.
If you’re a midlife golfer trying to get your game (and your routine) back, you’re in the right place.
