Could you actually live in Boquete, Panama — not just vacation here? We spent a month in one of Panama’s most popular destinations for retirees and expats, and by the middle of our stay, Tammy wasn’t sure she ever wanted to come back. After 30 days in Boquete, we have a very different answer. In this video, we share what it was really like to live in Boquete for a month: getting around without a car, how walkable Boquete really is, the weather during the rainy season, restaurants and fresh local food, things to do, finding community, and the everyday realities you don't necessarily notice during a short vacation. We also made one mistake that affected almost everything about our month here—and it took us most of the month to realize the problem might not have been Boquete at all. If you're considering retiring in Panama, moving to Boquete, spending a month here as a slow traveler, or wondering whether Boquete deserves its reputation as one of Panama's most popular expat destinations, we hope our experience helps you decide whether it's right for you. 📘 FREE BOQUETE FOR A MONTH PLANNER We created a free practical planner based on everything we learned during our stay, including where we'd stay next time, transportation, activities, food, weather, community, and how we'd approach a one-week, two-week, or month-long visit.
