Winter Jazz in Paris: Pawprints Across a Quiet Bridge

Winter jazz in Paris for a quiet night in: two hours of soft accordion, clarinet and piano while the first snow comes down. No lyrics, and no rain or city noise. The picture is an old jazz record sleeve from a Paris winter, and tonight the photo on it comes to life. It's past two in the morning and the first snow is falling. Loafie sits on a small bridge under the one street lamp, eyes shut, next to a closed clarinet case. A few pawprints lead back through the new snow, and the river below holds the lamplight. All 12 instrumental tracks are new and made for this set. Half are accordion waltzes, half are light brushed swing, with upright bass underneath and a low clarinet stepping in for the middle chorus on most of them. They play once in order, then come back in new orders to fill the two hours. Play it low under a book or a late shift.
