Our FIRST TIME TREKKING in Batad, Banaue! 🌿⛰️ | UNESCO World Heritage Rice Terraces After years of dreaming about seeing the famous Banaue Rice Terraces, we finally made it happen! ❤️ This was our first time travelling to Banaue, and the journey from Manila took us around 9 hours — but the moment we arrived, we already knew the long drive was worth it. The incredible views of the mountains and rice terraces were absolutely mesmerizing. Growing up, seeing photos of the Banaue Rice Terraces was something we always dreamed of experiencing in person. But this trip became even more special because we were also about to try something completely new for us… OUR FIRST TREKKING ADVENTURE! 🥾🌿 But of course… the mountains had other plans for us. 😅 We arrived in Banaue during Tropical Storm Maymay (international name: Kujira) while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) was bringing heavy and continuous rain across Northern Luzon. The bad weather also affected mountain roads, with landslides and falling rocks causing road closures in several areas, including portions of the Baguio-Bontoc Road (Halsema Highway). With all that rain, we honestly started worrying that we might get stuck in Banaue and wouldn't be able to do any tours or trekking at all. But as they say… If there's a will, there's a way! ❤️ So we decided to push through and make the most out of our adventure. And wow… it wasn't easy. 😅 Because of landslides and the condition of the trails, our trekking route had to be changed, making the hike even more challenging. There were muddy and difficult sections, and the weather definitely tested us. But when we finally reached the viewpoint and saw the incredible Batad Rice Terraces… IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. 😍 Standing there and looking at the terraces, mountains, and surrounding villages was one of those moments where you just stop, breathe, and appreciate how beautiful the Philippines really is. And the adventure wasn't only about the views. One of the things we loved most about Banaue was the people, the food, and the incredible hospitality we experienced during our stay at Trekker's Lodge and Cafe. A huge thank you to Ate Steph, who was so kind, welcoming, approachable, and incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. She is truly a master of her craft! ❤️ We absolutely loved her delicious Lomi and Filipino dishes, and she was also incredibly helpful when it came to tours and trekking. She knows the area so well and even has a list of local tour guides who can help visitors explore Banaue. Special thanks as well to our amazing tour guide, who did her very best to help us complete this adventure despite the challenging weather and trail conditions. 🥾❤️ And of course… we can't forget the UNLIMITED COFFEE! ☕😂 We already miss the food prepared by Ate Steph and her team, especially Tricia and Kuya, and we also loved our room and the beautiful dining area overlooking the terraces. Waking up, having coffee, eating delicious Filipino food, and looking out at the Banaue Rice Terraces felt absolutely magical. Honestly, after this trip, we could easily imagine staying here for a week or even two, slowing down, enjoying the mountains, drinking coffee, and simply waiting for the weather to clear. 😂❤️ Banaue gave us more than just beautiful scenery. It gave us an unforgettable first trekking experience, amazing food, wonderful people, and a memory that we will carry with us for a very long time. If you're planning to visit Banaue or Batad someday, we hope this vlog gives you a glimpse of what the experience can be like — especially when the weather doesn't exactly cooperate! 🌧️⛰️ Thank you so much for watching our adventure! ❤️ If you enjoyed the video, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and turn on the notification bell 🔔 so you won't miss our next camping and travel adventure!
