Well the clubbing side of it all started at the Sussex (first part of the video) & was all because of a mate of mine who ran the doors in Rhyl called Si Mead who was a lovely lad. Si Mead ended up being an extra in the film 'Deadmans Cards' as a heavy & Spencer Wilding was also an extra. Spencer is actually in the video in the Sussex. Si arranged our first event that went well considering I had got the date wrong on our first posters haha doh didn't realise until we were sat in there on the night. I was on last & the dancefloor was busy where I got spiked with Opium just before I played which didn't go well, being sick behind the decks! I started my set using Pink Floyd's 'Breathe' which nearly slipped into 'Time' which sounds like alarm bells and a ticking clock with guitar & vocals, that would have totally messed it up haha & just managed to get the next track on with a slight needle screech. Rob thought it was funny! I thought the joint smelt weird haha I had no idea what that was, until then!. Anyway it didn't last long as we were booted out for supposed nefarious acts! as they had planted a spy dancer oh dear haha. So that was it. After a while Si got in touch again to say Gary Wright's (the previous landlord) brother Tony was willing to give us a go in the Orange Peel, which was a bit more run down than the Sussex.. but that suited us in the end haha. We had a really good relationship with the Orange Peel crew over the years as we already knew them from school & being local. So glad we ended up there. The only problem with a venue in Rhyl or North Wales was no transport after 11pm, unlike the cities where it was easy. We carried on regardless & everyone had to have a teetotal driver that was always handy to get up to the forest after & there was always a party on every weekend with numerous crews of North Wales obliging, otherwise it was us doing one. Clocaneog forest was central to all of us, only 13 miles from Blaenau Ffestiniog, 20 from Rhyl etc perfect. It was in a small party at John Garth Gorch's old farmhouse in Llandderfel in Bala we met the Liberator crew. It was a funny old place, with only a wooden latch on the front door, two light bulbs downstairs and one light bulb upstairs and a phone. You could see downstairs from upstairs through the floorboards as it hadn't been touched in at least two hundred years. Amazing really in the middle of nowhere that place was magical with its Georgian old style barn to dance in. Gary & Shaun Nunn from Dolgellau dragged the Liberators up from Brixton where they were working. The night went well which was in the house not the barn as it was too cold with their Russian E's shared out! Chris & Aarron were really happy we were playing their tunes as well as Julian who stuck me on the promo mailing list to receive new releases six weeks in advance for a bit of advertising. It really was cold & we actually got snowed in for a couple of days there too with a single track lane. A few years later I found out that my wife Sonia was living there at John's, wow how mads that. The nights shown here look like the following. The first part is at the Sussex on Dec 20th 96 with Interface Live, Greg Dolphin (North) playing with dp resident DJ's Huw - Matig playing downstairs & Sid - Warwick Hunt was showing off scratching upstairs. The Orange Peel nights shown were held on Oct 18th 97 hosting DJ Shag with Ian Edge - Chemist and me as residents. The later part of the video was held on Sept 30th 97 with good mates DJ's Richie DJ Block (Bliss, North Wales Techno Crew) & our resident DJ's Huw - Matig & Wayne - Rolla. Our first gigs were hosted by our friends Paul Hammond who was the Master of Ceremony's as MC Jest & John Connor helping out on the mic. Paul hosted a radio show on Shore FM too. There was many a memorable night had down the Peel, with nights by the Liberators, Mark EG, M-Zone, Acid Ted, DDR, Rowland the Bastard, Dave the Drummer to name but a few, as well as our local talent like our mates the brothers Wayne & Steve at the FAT Collective & DJ M & Yollo at Detonation who hired the club & rig to hold their own nights there on alternate Saturdays. It was always great to get our live acts up there too. Edge & Speed a techno based duo from Llandegla with Ian Edge and Mike Speed at the helm. Agent 1475 a Rhyl based outfit which consisted of Big Steve Jonesy & Big Dave that played a more trancey style with heavy rock guitar influences played by Big Steve. I thought I should leave that George Michael part in so you could see what we had to deal with initially haha. We got rid of that ASAP. This video is banned in Russia because of that bit. Oh well. ashdosseposse For new uploads save this dosseposse playlist link -    • dosseposse   Here is a link to all of our party photos. - https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Qi...
