━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🔥 AN IMPORTANT INTERVIEW LESSON
Kaushalya shares an important real interview situation:
At one point, she could not immediately understand what the interviewers were asking.
Instead of randomly answering, she asked for clarification, carefully looked at the question again, took a few seconds to think, and then proceeded.
This is an important lesson for PhD interviews.
You do NOT need to panic if you do not immediately understand a question.
Listen carefully.
Ask for clarification when necessary.
Think before answering.
Communicate your reasoning clearly.

📚 SUBJECTS DISCUSSED IN THE INTERVIEW
Kaushalya mentioned Algebra and Linear Algebra as areas she was comfortable with.
The panel started asking questions from these areas, including ideas related to:
• Linear maps
• Linear transformations
• Algebra
• Conceptual mathematical reasoning
For PhD interviews, simply remembering results is not enough.
You should be able to explain definitions, prove basic results, solve unfamiliar questions and communicate your mathematical thinking clearly.

❤️ *FROM WATCHING INTERVIEWS TO GETTING SELECTED*
One beautiful part of this journey is that Kaushalya herself used to watch Mathematics and PhD interview discussions and wonder whether she would one day reach the same stage.
Now she has herself been selected for the PhD Programme in Mathematics at **IISER Thiruvananthapuram**.
Many congratulations to *Ropiya Kaushalya Deeparam* on this achievement. 🎉
We wish her the very best for the next stage of her mathematical and research journey.
