*JASMINE GUY “DIDN'T AGE WELL”? THE CRUEL TRUTH ABOUT HOW SOCIETY TREATS WOMEN!*
Jasmine Guy, the beloved actress best known for playing Whitley Gilbert on the iconic television sitcom *A Different World*, has become the subject of hurtful social media comments about her appearance and aging.
Following her return to *A Different World*, some people took to social media to claim that Jasmine Guy “did not age well.”
But my question is: *WHEN DID A WOMAN'S VALUE BECOME DETERMINED BY HOW YOUNG OR ATTRACTIVE SHE LOOKS?*
In this long-form commentary video, I discuss the viral criticism of Jasmine Guy, the unrealistic beauty standards placed on women, ageism, online bullying, and why we must stop measuring a woman's worth by her physical appearance.
*JASMINE GUY IS MORE THAN HER LOOKS!*
At 64 years old, Jasmine Guy has enjoyed a remarkable career as an actress, dancer, singer, and director.
She became a household name through her portrayal of Whitley Gilbert on *A Different World*, the beloved spin-off of *The Cosby Show*.
She has performed on Broadway, appeared in numerous television series and films, and continued building her career for more than four decades.
Her talent, dedication, longevity, and accomplishments deserve recognition.
Yet instead of celebrating a woman who has spent decades contributing to the entertainment industry, some people have chosen to publicly criticize how she looks as she ages.
*WHEN DID AGING BECOME SOMETHING TO BE ASHAMED OF?*
Society has created unrealistic beauty standards that teach women their value depends on youth, physical attractiveness, and meeting someone else's expectations.
Social media has amplified those pressures.
Women are criticized for aging naturally.
Women are criticized for trying to look younger.
Women are criticized for gaining weight, losing weight, wearing makeup, not wearing makeup, and simply looking different from how they looked decades ago.
When does it stop?
*BEING ATTRACTIVE IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING BEAUTIFUL!*
Physical attractiveness is subjective.
But a woman's beauty, dignity, character, intelligence, wisdom, compassion, accomplishments, and value cannot be reduced to her physical appearance.
Jasmine Guy has lived and continues to live a life filled with professional achievements and meaningful experiences.
Why should any of that be diminished because strangers on the internet have opinions about her face?

*MY MESSAGE TO WOMEN:*
Your worth does not expire with age.
Your beauty is not determined by strangers.
Your accomplishments matter.
Your experiences matter.
Your wisdom matters.
And your life is worth so much more than your appearance.
📖 *1 SAMUEL 16:7*
The Lord looks at the heart, not merely the outward appearance.
📖 *PROVERBS 31:30*
Charm and physical beauty are fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is worthy of praise.
*LET'S TALK!*
Do you believe society has become increasingly cruel toward women as they age?
Why do you think women are so often judged by their appearance rather than their accomplishments?
And what are your thoughts about the criticism directed toward Jasmine Guy?
