Umka Board Mill - 70% more capacity and enhanced quality through rebuilding

Discover how Umka Board Mill, a family-owned business in Serbia, transformed its operations with three major rebuild projects by Valmet. These rebuilds increased Umka’s production capacity by nearly 70% and significantly improved board quality, enabling them to meet market demands and attract new customers. The first and largest project started up in 2021, introducing major changes such as three new OptiFlo Fourdrinier headboxes, an OptiFormer Multi forming section with multiple fourdriniers, a new OptiCoat Layer curtain coating station, and a new OptiWin Drum two-drum winder. In 2023, a completely new Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) line was started up, and in 2023, new OptiDry Coat coating air dryers were installed.
