Age Grade Pre-Carnival Festival: Ugoamaka Age Grade

Friends and well-wishers of Awa gathered at the Community Secondary School Awa Playground on Saturday, 19th April 2025, for the vibrant Age Grade Pre-Carnival Festival. This age-long tradition, recently revived by the Awa Town Union (ATU), celebrates every son and daughter of Awa, fostering unity and cultural pride. Newly registered age grades showcased their unique displays, building excitement for the main competitive carnival coming this December 2025. Expectations are high as groups prepare to present dazzling masquerades, electrifying dance performances, and impactful community projects to be executed within the next year. The festival preceded the historic launch of the legendary book on Awa’s history, authored by HRM Eze Felix Ihezie Ononuju, on Easter Sunday, 20th April 2025.
