Is the Holy Spirit a person — or simply God's active force? In this discussion, a surprising argument is made using the very Bible used by Jehovah's Witnesses. We examine passages in the New Testament that describe the Holy Spirit as doing things normally associated with a person: bearing witness, speaking, giving instructions, and being lied to. In John 15:26–27, Jesus says that the Holy Spirit will “bear witness” about Him, while the disciples are also told to bear witness. In Acts 5, Ananias is accused of lying to the Holy Spirit — and then to God. So what does this actually tell us about the identity of the Holy Spirit? Is the Holy Spirit merely an impersonal force, or does Scripture present Him as a divine person? Watch the full discussion and consider the argument for yourself. 📖 This is an excerpt from a longer livestream.
