Among the thousands of artifacts in the collection of the Childrens Museum of Indianapolis, Trains take up a sizable section. Despite being far more known for the Reuben Wells — an 1868 0-10-0 steam locomotive owned by the Jeffersonville, Madison & Indianapolis Railroad — that spent decades pushing and pulling rail cars up and down the Madison Incline, the bulk of the trains in its collection are model trains. Donated by Robert Vickers of Anderson, IN & Noble Biddinger of Indianapolis, IN, the Childrens Museum of Indianapolis' 6,000 piece model train collection was the basis for the Toy Train Treasures exhibit, featuring towering shelves of colorful model trains from North America & Europe and a pair of train layouts — In HO scale & O gauge respectively. For nearly 2 decades, Toy Train Treasures delighted millions of Childrens Museum visitors, before being whisked away to the pages of history. Produced in accordance with the centennial of the museum and the 50th anniversary of the debut of the O scale layout, this mini documentary tells the never before told story of Toy Train Treasures, the model train exhibit with the worlds largest model train collection on public display, that was lost to history. *Disclaimer* Nickel Plated Productions does not lay claim to any of the material used in this documentary.
