Meet the Collectors | Catherine Petitgas

A year spent in Mexico City introduced Catherine Petitgas to such stalwarts as Francis Alÿs and Gabriel Orozco. Since then, the former banker has been a dedicated champion of Latin American contemporary art. A true connoisseur – and a published art historian – Petitgas' commitment to art isn't limited to collecting. For years, the philanthropist has been a key supporter of major institutions, including Tate, for which she chairs the International Council, the Serpentine Galleries, and Gasworks. She opened the doors of her London residence to Art Basel to discuss what art has brought to her life.
