Long ago, in a quiet village surrounded by forests and rivers, there lived Nagamni, a mystical serpent-woman. She was once blessed with divine beauty and a radiant jewel—Mani—shining upon her forehead. Years passed, and the villagers forgot her tale. But one day, a devout man named Bhakti Bhola, known for his simple faith and fearless heart, was digging the earth to plant crops. His spade struck something hard, and as he brushed away the soil, he discovered the glowing Mani. Entranced by its brilliance, he lifted it from Nagamni’s head. Awakened from her slumber, Nagamni rose with fury. Her hiss echoed through the fields, and her eyes burned with vengeance. Without her jewel, her pain turned into wrath. She slithered through the village, bringing storms, drying wells, and frightening cattle. Children fell ill, and the villagers trembled at night, hearing her scales scrape against their doors.
