Wyze Video Doorbell has a Secret MicroUSB Port - The discovery and alternative new potential uses

UPDATE: Wyze, via a commenter, has responded about the port: "Thank you for reaching out to Wyze, my name is Ryan and I am happy to assist! The USB port on the camera is actually for manufacturing and internal testing. We do not recommend powering the [sic]the Doorbell by USB port as peeling off the seal that covers it voids the Warranty as well as compromises the weatherproofing of the camera" This is an absolutely valid position and definitely one reason NOT to use it outdoors if you're worried about weatherproofing, nor modify the product if you're worried about warranty. ---- The Wyze Video Doorbell can “unofficially” be run off a MicroUSB just like there rest of their cameras. There is a plug hidden on the back, underneath a sticker which makes the port available. What did they plan for this port? Who knows - I’m going to present you with a few use cases where this makes more sense. AND - anywhere you have a MicroUSB port, you now have the option to use your video doorbell. I’m guessing this doesn’t make it water-resistant and several other drawbacks, but it actually seems to have fixed my audio intercom issue when running on USB instead of the 16V transformer.
