The Man Who Changed the World With Paper

Before paper transformed education, government, literature, and human knowledge, writing depended on costly and impractical materials. Around 105 CE, Cai Lun—an official of China’s Han dynasty—was traditionally credited with refining a papermaking process that would change civilization forever. Using materials such as bark, hemp, rags, and fishing nets, he helped create a lighter, cheaper, and more practical writing surface. This is the story of Cai Lun, the invention that reshaped communication, and how paper traveled from ancient China to the rest of the world. #cailun #ancientchina #history #inventions #paper #chinesehistory
