Starting at Holyrood Palace, this relaxing real-time walk takes you the full length of the Royal Mile, through the Canongate and High Street, past St Giles’ Cathedral and the David Hume Statue, before continuing through Castlehill to Edinburgh Castle. The walk begins at Holyrood Palace, with views of Arthur’s Seat and the Scottish Parliament before we join the Royal Mile. We make our way through the quieter Canongate section, passing beautiful historic buildings and Canongate Kirk before the atmosphere begins to change as we reach the busy High Street. Along the way, we pass the famous David Hume Statue and encounter even more Edinburgh Fringe street performers, including a traditional Scottish bagpiper. The walk then continues through Lawnmarket and Castlehill before entering the Edinburgh Castle forecourt, where the stadium is set up for the spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The video ends with a view of the entrance to Edinburgh Castle, bringing this immersive walk through the heart of Edinburgh to a close.
