I was thrilled to catch up with my friend Nicholas Zylberman while at the 2026 Munich Show. Usually I only cover Nicholas in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines when we're in the gemstone arena but here he was in Munich right on the main mineral floor. One of the MANY things I love about Nicholas is his ability to tantalize and teach us about gemstones AND minerals as he's always making the connection between the two - not an easy thing to do. So while Nicholas is primarily a gemstone dealer, he's always looking to the source for the complete story. This interview is another great example of that as we do a deep dive into the world and colors of Grandite - a term used to describe a series of garnets in the andradite-grossular range.
