The Nightfly Bass Cover

Is anyone else not watching the superbowl? My wife has taken over the television to watch it and I've been banished to my room; I just hope she keeps the noise down. I've got plenty of java And Chesterfield Kings But I feel like crying I wish I had a heart of ice A heart like ice... The title track off of Donald Fagen's 1982 release, The Nightfly; one of my best-loved albums of all time. At one point, in my early/mid twenties, Steely Dan was my absolute favorite band. I never learned a song of theirs but, sometimes, the music I enjoy listening to most is not necessarily the music I enjoy playing the most. I'm as proud of having learned this song as I am of any other song I've learned and covered, it's got some really tasteful parts in it. I think this is one of the best sounding albums I've ever heard. It's crisp, clear and clean. You can hear every nuance played by every single instrument. It's full and rich sounding yet audibly transparent. It's a shame what has happened to the fine art of music engineering and mastering. On this track Marcus Miller played bass, Jeff Porcaro - drums, and Larry Carlton - guitar.
