Utility Network Migration: User Training and System Testing Considerations

Kristen Vincent, GIS Manager, City of De Pere The City of De Pere is currently partnering with Avineon to migrate Sanitary, Stormwater, and Water datasets from the Geometric Network to Esri’s Utility Network data model. This presentation is an update to the one given at EWUG 2025 with new content and will be more technical in nature. Given the shift in concepts, terminology, and functionality from the Geometric Network to the Utility Network, it is important to dedicate time to training and testing before fully deploying the Utility Network. This presentation will focus on the training needed, our testing phase, adapting to a new editing environment, and lessons learned from our process.
