Lake Erie Walleye Catch & Cook 2026

Lake Erie walleye fishing out of Port Burwell on the North shore in 2026 brought Grandpa, Claira, and me out for a family catch and cook, where we tried to catch our limit of walleye and bring home enough fish to make my homemade Walleye Tacos. We got a bit of a late start and only had a couple of hours to fish, so catching our full Lake Erie limit was going to be a challenge. Even though we didn’t manage to get a three man limit, we still caught a one-person limit of walleye, had an awesome afternoon together, and brought home more than enough fish for a great meal. Back at home, I cooked the walleye using Catch and Cook batter, and I decided to remake an old recipe I created a year ago: Dilly Walleye Tacos. Fresh Lake Erie walleye, crispy batter, homemade tacos, and time spent with my Grandpa and sister made this one of those simple summer fishing days that I will always remember. Sometimes it isn’t about catching a full limit. A few hours on the water, some fish for dinner, and time spent with family is more than enough.
