From a cutting to a Thriving Munson Grapevine: Lomanto Grape Cutting Propagation

‪@MeanwhileinBroomtown‬ asks can you really grow a healthy grapevine from a simple cutting? In this video, we follow the incredible journey of Lomanto - a Munson grape —from a dormant grape cutting stored in the refrigerator to a rooted, vigorous young grapevine ready for its permanent home! 🍇🌱 I start by preparing Lomanto grape cuttings, dipping them in rooting hormone, and placing them in my special growth medium to see which ones will successfully develop roots. Then we check in week after week to watch the buds emerge, leaves develop, and the young vines take off. But the real excitement comes when it's finally time to pull the plants from their pots and see what's happening underground. The results were better than expected, with nearly all of the cuttings producing roots! We then plant the young Lomanto vines in the vineyard, protect them with blue tubes, and give them the opportunity to establish themselves for years to come. After about four months, we take one final look—and Lamonto has turned into a surprisingly vigorous young grapevine!
