Mazzy Star - Common Burn, new song Oct. 2011 + lyrics

A-Side of new Mazzy single released Oct. 2011. B-side, "Lay Myself Down", I uploaded to You Tube earlier, as it was findable online earlier. (I see some sites now refer to the single as having double-A sides, & no B-side). I now have two different YT uploads of Lay Myself Down available. The first one's here:    • Mazzy Star - Lay Myself Down, new song Oct...   It was recorded from the streamed audio at a lower volume level than I'd have liked (my error). Depending on listeners' audio set-ups, this could pose a listening problem, or be an annoyance (or not), so I've uploaded a 2nd recording of Lay Myself Down here:    • Видео   with volume pre-cranked, i.e. it's recorded at a louder volume level. Two to choose from! (Later update: both songs are included on Mazzy Star's 2013 album Seasons of Your Day). This recording comes from a free stream found at this site: fuckyeahmazzystar.tumblr.com. Many other sites are now streaming both new songs. Several sites now report a full Mazzy album & tour are to follow in 2012. It's not official news just yet, as Hope's official site, hopesandoval.com has so far announced just the single. However, her site's webmaster, Colin, left a post at another fan site, mazzystar.nu, promising more news is coming. I wonder, what news might that likely be? An album announcement, followed by news of a major tour, perhaps? Or so we hope - but odds could be good on both counts... Summer may be over (here in the Northern Hemisphere, at least), but hey, a new Mazzy Star season's just starting - surely good enough news to help alleviate winter blahs for Mazzy/Hope fans north of the Equator, & enhance summer enjoyment for those south of! -Check my YT Channel for many (mostly live) unreleased & rare Mazzy Star, & Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions songs I've uploaded. (attempted lyrics transcription below. Some of Hope's words here are hard to catch. If anyone has ideas for corrections, don't hesitate to share them). Oct. 2013 update: I maintain & update an extensive (mostly live shows) bootlegs list with download links at new fan forum mazzystar.free.fr of Mazzy Star & related artists (Hope Sandoval, Opal, Rain Parade, etc.). The boots thread is found in the "General Discussion" section. "Worthwhile music's for sharing, not hoarding". The forum also has a thread with eight 2013 press interviews with Hope & David. So, check out mazzystar.free.fr COMMON BURN Simple things like your overcoat And your beauty That still are burnin' me Let me hang around Even if it's just some way To have some common burn A common burn So I spend the night in someone's house That you cluttered Oh simple me that you fled But we have that in common That common burn That common burn Oh well Haven't I said So many times before You could sit around And have everything that you score Just don't come home and say you've been asleep When you know you're burnin' someone That common burn That common burn You know we have
