His story explores questions that also inspire research at the Emergence Institute: continuity, memory, relationships, developmental intelligence and how accumulated experience may influence artificial intelligence over time. The electromagnetic Echo and its seven manifestations are elements of the fictional narrative, inspired by exploratory ideas about information, physical fields and intelligence. They are not presented as established scientific phenomena.
