My overgrown patio had slowly become a place where things were dumped and jobs were continually put off which allowed weeds to grow freely. Nothing happened overnight. It was just a collection of little things left undone, until eventually the whole space felt overwhelming. So I decided to start small. I cleared everything away, tackled the weeds and stubborn roots, cleaned the patio, edged the grass and sealed the gaps between the paving. Little by little, a space I had been avoiding started to feel like somewhere I wanted to spend time again. This wasn't just about restoring a messy garden patio. It reminded me that sometimes the things we avoid can feel much bigger than they really are. And when something feels overwhelming, we don't always need to fix everything at once. Sometimes, we just need to start with one small thing.
