“I think creativity is not just bound to one thing. You can do so many things with it.” In this episode of Lantern House Talk, host Chris Husky sits down with German DJ, producer, and fashion photographer Julia Linkogel at Mission Kitchen in London. Working across electronic music and visual art, Julia opens up about building two creative careers at the same time. From studying classical and jazz piano in Mainz to discovering trance through Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, and Above & Beyond, she explains how melody became central to her sound. She also shares how a chapter in Australia led her towards photography, later shooting covers for Vogue Netherlands and working with brands including H&M. Fresh from opening the Wild Comet room during Anyma’s night at [UNVRS] in Ibiza, and ahead of Junction 2, Julia reflects on making her major event debut alongside Adriatique at X Future during OFFSónar. She also recalls the full-circle moment of discovering that Tiësto had played her track “Feel The Sun” in Toronto, and discusses developing her sound through releases on Radikon, ICONYC, and Colorize. We also explore the reality of balancing touring with a photography career, the role of consistency in building a creative life, her approach to melodies and arrangement, the unpredictability of B2B sets, and why collaborations are pushing her beyond her comfort zone. 🎙️ Host: ‪@chrishusky_music‬ Artist: @julia.linkogel Artist Curation: Weiyi Xia Music Programming: Weiyi Xia 📍 Location: Mission Kitchen, London 📅 Recording Date: July 2026 📻 Series: Lantern House Talk A platform built around listening, rhythm, and connection.
