What happens when an entire town is left behind?
This week, Bentley and I continue our journey east through Western Australia, discovering beautiful free camps, hidden historical treasures and some of the most peaceful places along the way.
Our first stop is Pallinup River, where we find the perfect little spot to call home for a few days. Think beautiful sunsets, peaceful mornings, riverside walks and plenty of quality time with Bentley.
It's these simple moments that remind me why I love life on the road so much.
From there, we travel through Jerramungup, stopping to admire its beautiful ANZAC artwork, before continuing through Ravensthorpe and making our way to a rather extraordinary little place.
Welcome to Kundip, the little mining town Western Australia forgot.
Officially gazetted in 1901, Kundip was once a gold and copper mining settlement, complete with streets, homes, businesses, a hotel and even a railway.
Today, much of the town has disappeared into the surrounding bushland, but its history is still waiting to be discovered.
We spend the day wandering through the old ruins, discovering relics from another era and taking a step back in time through some incredible historical photographs showing what life looked like here more than a century ago.
From the old mining operations to the town's hotel and the arrival of its first construction train in 1908, there's so much more to this quiet little place than meets the eye.
And, of course, there's plenty of everyday life on the road with Bentley, beautiful Australian scenery, spectacular sunsets and those little moments that make this adventure so special.
I've honestly loved our time exploring this part of Western Australia, and I'm so grateful to be able to share these experiences with you.
