Result Day 98, 203 g dry, 2.89 g / watt, 562.5 g / m²
Having been refrigerated for over a year, the seed developed a taproot in just 45 hours. The spontaneous addition of 50% coco coir from a local hardware store initially caused concerns about over-fertilization due to its pre-amended nature. Consequently, nutrient doses were kept low at first. A strategy that proved to be a mistake, as it triggered a widespread nutrient deficiency.
Evidently, the pre-fertilization is minimal; while it might suffice for standard houseplants, it falls short for our specific crops. Despite this early setback, the plant ultimately produced an impressive 562g/m², surpassing the breeder's expected yield. This time, excess material was used to flavor meat in the gas grill.
Overall, I am highly satisfied with incorporating 50% coco coir into my recycled peat-based soil. This combination significantly enhanced the absorption of the nutrient solution and markedly improved oxygenation within the root zone.
A heatwave in week 12 pushed tent temperatures to 32°C, presenting a minor challenge. Nevertheless, the VPD remained within acceptable parameters. Although this stress caused some foxtailing, the phenomenon likely contributed to the final above-average yield.
