When it comes to natural soap colorants, Himalayan rhubarb takes the cake. What begins as a plain brown powder soon changes to electric yellow in oil. Use that infused oil to make soap, and you can create bars that are a deep raspberry to cherry red! Various factors, including pH, are at play in this incredible color change. Using this colorant can be tricky, though. Your soap could turn orange if you don't follow the advice I give in this video.
