Boeing Commercial Airplanes delivered 600 commercial aircraft in 2025—the company's best delivery year since 2018. Yet the division reported a $7.079 billion operating loss. The explanation lies in aerospace program accounting: learning curves, deferred production costs, supplier disruption, quality problems, delayed certification and reach-forward losses. Nearly three quarters of the loss came from charges on the delayed 777X and 767 programs, including a $4.899 billion charge on a 777X that had not delivered a single aircraft. This documentary explains why higher deliveries can improve revenue and cash flow without immediately restoring profitability—and why Boeing's recovery matters to airlines, passengers, suppliers and the global aviation system.
